Creative Thinking Forum on Transitioning to a Viable Society
The Alliance is organising a Creative Thinking Forum on Transitioning to a Viable Society. It will be held in Sydney the weekend of 5-7 March, 2010.
The Creative Thinking Forum is an invitation-only event for leaders of national organisations and other influential people in Australia, combined with technical experts, psychologists, economists, artists, media production people, soil scientists - a wide range of relevant people.
We intend for it to be a pivotal event in enabling Australia to change course to viability given the realities of climate change and other environmental and social issues. Although there have been many conferences and think tanks, never before has a group of this sort come together to do such in-depth collegial thinking.
I anticipate that participants will be so inspired by the depth of their own thinking that they will devise surprising ways to mobilise our national will to become viable. There is enormous untapped power in the networks that will be represented here. Our goal is to succeed in catalysing the change to actually becoming a viable society. We are playing for keeps. This is not an academic exercise.
While we have a large list of people to invite, suggestions are welcome. E-mail to andrew.gaines [at] alliance4swb.com.au
